In the end, the comment section is a bit divided. It's in a similar vein to A Great New World's 'Say Something' that was released a few years ago This song really changes an ordinary pop song and changes it into a highly emotional and heartfelt ballad. Never heard the original until this version was released. Here, a man has taken it, repurposed it, flipped the genders, sucked out it's power and slapped it out as a slow, banal ballad. It is a song about female empowerment, with crushingly sad lyrics juxtaposed against a frenetic, electro pop production. The original by Robyn, is one of the best pop songs of the 21st Century. I am really annoyed with this song and that is doing so well. What a unique, pure and stunning voice that Calum scott has!! Wish him best of luck for further great success"! Love this version much better than the original one. Okay, so here are some reviews I found on iTunes (Aus). Many people are split over this cover, and you kind of understand why.
It ended up being certified went 3x Platinum in Aus and sold 1 million copies in UK, and placed 21 on the year end - Aria Charts, and 12 on the UK end charts.
It wasn't long till radio picked up the cover and then sales, youtube, etc caught on board. The song (originally by Robyn) was covered by Calum Scott. (including the watered down Tiesto remix) Okay, If you live in UK or Australia you probably heard this song being played 5x a day for a good 4-5 months on loop.
